Question about purchasing a new radio (Sirus vs XM subscription)

    Hi all,

My trusty Sportster died. I need a new one. From what I understand there are some radio's that are still XM only and Sirius only. Is this true? And if so, what's a recommended new-ish radio for a Sirius Subscription? Looking for the car radio that fits in a cradle so I can move it back and forth between the car and house. Thanks!

Yes there are some that are still Sirius only and XM only.

If you're looking for Sirius portables, there are two, Starmate and Stratus.

If you're looking for Sirius or XM (it does both), there is the Onyx.

My Sportster 5 is clearly on the way out (lots of "Acquiring Signal" and "Antenna Not Detected" messages), and the Onyx Plus is probably as close to the old Sportster that I can find. If I'm still listed as a Sirius subscriber, is the Onyx Plus compatible or will I need to change subscriptions?

The Onyx works with both services.
