XM Radio in my truck not working

    Hello
I have a '09 Escalade, which i purchased used. It has a built in unit, which is supposed to receive XM Radio. All I am able to receive is the preview channel 1. I have tried to get my radio to work with a subscription, and after numerous failed refresh, and reset attempts...i gave up. One day I tuned in to XM and all 120 XM channels and categories were working on the 2 week free trial. I contacted Sirius support and asked them why I was able to receive free to air for two weeks, but unable to do so with a subscription.
    This is what they replied.

    Hi Tony,

    Thanks for your reply.

We can confirm that we have heard back form SIRIUSXM IT. They have
explained that the signal provided during our Free To Air promotion is
an "unprovisioned signal". Essentially, this means the signal for FTA
is completely different from the signal we use to activate a paying
subscription. As such, it does not confirm that your radio is capable
of receiving a SIRIUSXM Canada subscription.

They still agree that the chipset installed in your radio is not capable
of receiving a signal from SIRIUSXM Canada. We do apologise for any
    inconvenience this may cause.

    Sincerely,

    Steven M

Has anyone heard of this?... because i am not buying it.
