Steiny - Trying to form the portfolio around content and distribution. Comcast, Sirius, Time Warner Cable, Charter, Disney, CBS. What am I missing? Thesis is broadband adoption favors cable distributors over sat tv and telcos, and large video content providers over streaming players with limited content ownership. And car entertainment favors broad content over music only streaming. Everybody in the portfolio is under 13 times EV/EBITDA except Sirius and they have the highest cash flow growth rate. See Charter leading the broadband growth rate forward, Disney leading the content growth rate forward, and Comcast combining both with vertical integration. Am I missing a content or distribution play that is still undervalued? Thanks Steiny!

Already found a possibility - Starz! Posting stuff sure is a great way to organize thoughts and force you to do research. Love it! Time Warner (TWX), Viacom, Fox.......just not that interesting. I even hesitate on CBS because of the non growth radio attached to the great broadcast network and superb Showtime.

Take care dudes. This board has been very helpful to me in the last week. Reconsidered Live Nation and added Disney. I needed more content. Learn EV/EBITDA, FCF per share and EBITDA margins before buying anything in media. Ain't rocket science and the calculations are invaluable. Also remember subscription model over advertising and content ownership over distribution. Fascinating industry with reputable info readily available from the industry mags and they are updated daily.

Funnily enough, "pieces" of what have been speculated by different posters will complete the puzzle. Pat yourselves on the back when it comes to fruition and hopefully you made some money when all is said and done. Peace Love and Little Donuts!

Haven't flown much recently, but I know that ipads have been quite popular in replacing the old manual slide rule style flight computer that was velcro strapped to your leg. Ipads are already quite effective for navigation and flight plans.

I wonder if we're gonna see cruddy stock-price-movement until all of those who are selling for a loss (for 2014 tax purposes) are done selling shares??

I am a pilot (private general aviation) and have subscribed to xm realtime in-flight weather service as integrated into my GPS for many years and before I had sirius in my car or became a shareholder. An invaluable service and well worth the $80 per month! There are several apps available that provide similar weather services for a much lower subscription rate but are not nearly as useful. The positive factor regarding an iPad or other mobile device is that you can easily take it with you and move from aircraft to aircraft, which is particularly valuable if you don't own your airplane and are a renter. This nevertheless interests me as a redundant system to my hard wired weather/GPS and I will definately subscribe. (you can never have too many back up systems!)
