Nah i didnt listen to Midass on that. Hey SF i was re-reading you convertible bond article from a few years back. I know you hinted a few weeks ago about possibly writing a article. Any chance you have any interest on sort of a follow up article to that one from a few years ago seeing where just about at that point now where converts just around the corner. Just kinda interested if your views still mirror those from a few years ago or if they have changed at all. Thanks man.
I'll be writing a couple things this weekend if I can. It's time :P Can you link the article you are referring to?
Probably best I don't dig into that one as it'll steer things in wrong directions. Obviously things played out a bit differently, and I'm of the opinion they were retained in order to provide a hedge first for UBS (I am assuming UBS still holds many of them) to fill LMCA's orders to go to control, and now for UBS to run the buyback, perhaps in conjunction with 1 or more others.
It gives an EXTREME amount of price control to have an ability to risklessly short hundreds of millions of shares at a moment's notice, and since they are not insiders, they can buy and sell all day without issue... lets them buy bid, sell ask all day. Let the ask build and build and build then BAM, gobble the ask shares here and there. So long as volume is low and interest is low... time allows them to fill buckets with shares and even make a few bucks while doing it.
This may very well be the thorn in our side that will keep the sp from moving up for a while.

crazy shit....good find bdp, thanks.
Institutional holdings tick back up to 27.70%
Interesting that NASDAQ has both Leon Cooperman and Omega Advisors(new) as holders and both on page 1.
Mistake by NAS or 2 different positions. If you click on them they have different addresses in different states.

Omega seems to be a new portfolio EDIT: LISTING as all the positions show to be "new" and there are no sold out, increased or decreased positions....EDIT: or a change in official Name/Address. Maybe the Cooperman Leon G position will be removed?

Dunno but I need that number to write what I was looking to write (the institutional percentage).
Not really interested in writing if it's going to be picked apart so I'll probably skip writing anything.
