    Record Label....

Is there any rule in place that says Sirius XM Radio cannot become a Record Label. Funny thing, I know I think too much about this company lately, I had a dream last night that Sirius XM had signed new musicians and produced albums. As I result they added another 1.8 billion in Revenues to their bottom line from record sales.

Like I said... it was a dream....

At least they wouldn't have to pay themselves royalties

    Realistically, could they sign artists?

They already pay royalties to play songs from other artists. If they can find talent and get a few hits, they could play the demos exclusively on Sirius Xm Radio.

In addition, as part of the artist contracts, they could pay them what they would otherwise pay in royalties to other artists each time the song is played.

For starters, they could have a new talent station where they play a mix of Sirius and XM talent and others. This would further add to the value of a subscription, as listeners will have exclusive access.

Is this possible? They have the recording studios! I would certainly love to listen to it!
