PIPE DREAMS

Two Pipelines Challenge Keystone
Plans for two new pipelines from Canada could make debate about the Keystone XL line a thing of the past. The projects drawn up by two energy companies could move 850,000 barrels of unrefined oil from Canada to Texas each day, and won’t have to face the challenges thrown up against the Keystone pipeline, which ran aground against protests from environmental groups last year. The portions of the planned line that run across borders have already been built, and so will not be subject to State Department review.
