Do any "portable" receivers actually work?

This has prob been asked and answereed many times...please forgive me I'm new. I got my wife the XmP3i thinking she could liste4n to Glen Beck at the gym. It doesn't even work reliably outside, let alone inside any building. Are there any tricks or modifications that will help. I have the Delphi repeater for the house but you are still tied to the dock and antenna. In the alternative does anyone know of smart phone sources for Glen Beck. It seems that the smartphone Android app does not contain the channel he is on?

Any and all Sirius XM receivers need a clear view of the sky to get reception. That said, the XmP3i has the ability to record and store so, you could record some show prior to going into the gym. Or you could see if the gym has wifi and use a smartphone to stream the internet feed live.
