    Confirmed! Commissioners are deliberating!

From an e-mail received TODAY! Not an in-person meeting...

""I hope this information is helpful in your deliberations. We again urge you to vote against approval of the merger..."

That article also supports some of the assertions made in the Warren article from today. Apparently the idea of local advertising isn't going over well. Obviously its a situation easily remedied, all the FCC would have to do is make it part of the agreement.

Can anyone tell me what the logic is behind not allowing satellite radio to advertise locally? Is that just something the NAB lobbied for at the birth of the technology because it would completely screw them otherwise?

Can't she have her staff issue a PR while she is on a plane?

This seems like a lot of wishful thinking. One could argue that they've been "deliberating" since the proposal was distributed. Hell, you could even argue that they have been since day 1 of the merger. This isn't a jury.

taken out of context, yes. But the telling tail is in certain events that transpired today. For starters, there have been no fcc meetings with anyone since the 3rd. There have been 2 e-mails sent in, that seem to be a sort of outcry for one last push by some opposition. The second e-mail presumes the merger to be approved..
