Hello I just bought a 2012 Mazda 5 base model on the dash is a sirius button. does that mean all I have to do is subscribe to sirius to get it or does a sirius radio still need to be installed.

Hello I just bought a 2012 Mazda 5 base model on the dash is a sirius button. does that mean all I have to do is subscribe to sirius to get it or does a sirius radio still need to be installed.
It all depends... what happens when you press the Sirius button? Do you see a number to call and activate? Do you hear a promo channel playing?

As far as I know, the Mazda 5 requires additional hardware. The model you purchased most not have had the "brain" installed. You probably would have known and paid for it if it did.
In the end, your car is seemingly satellite radio ready but, you need to purchase the receiver and activate for it to work.
