Digital Music News has published a list of the top paid and free music apps for Apple’s iPad. The list includes a number of Internet radio offerings, including RadioTime’s TuneIn Radio app, which ranks #2 in the paid apps listing. Not surprisingly, Pandora is the #1 free music app while Sirius XM‘s free app is #6.

U.S. auto sales in March indicated a continuing recovery, rising about 17 percent from a year earlier, to about 1.24 million units, and also surging ahead by 25 percent from February. It was a good performance for the industry in a month that is key every year because it kicks off the crucial spring buying season. The Seasonally Adjusted Annual Rate (SAAR) of sales or March came in at about 13.1 million units, down from February SAAR of 13.38 million.

    SB Trivia

ok, that's enough news for today . . . here we go:

In defending the virtues of Internet Radio, Digital Playlists, Music Lockers and Cloud-Based Ipods, which of the following food or beverages has Tyler Savery failed to reference:

    A.) Kool-Aid
    B.) Popcorn
    C.) Pie
    D.) Limburger Cheese
    E.) Day-Old Bread

It's Time for Tyler's Annual Eye Exam

Yeah, I know . . . you hate those damn dilating drops . . . but it must be done:

But first, lets start by seeing if your prescription has changed. Ok, lean forward please and place your chin in the cup. Now tell me which one is clearer:

    Better A?
    May 27, 2010 (8:00 am) Spencer Osborne
"I have long said that the magic number in car sales for Sirius XM Radio is 1,000,000 units sold per month."

    or Better B?
    April 4, 2011 (10:30 am) Spencer Osborne
"March auto sales are in and the numbers present a mixed bag . . . The annualized rate, which came in at 13.1 million, is still well above the 1 million per month average that satellite radio investors like to see, however, it is now lower than the 13.38 million that February brought that was pointing to a stronger confidence in the automobile sector and perhaps the economy."

    Better B?
    April 4, 2011 (10:30 am) Spencer Osborne
"Perhaps this is simply a bump in the road, but more likely it demonstrates the sensitivity of the consumers psyche when it comes to the economy."

    or Better C?
    May 27, 2010 (8:00 am) Spencer Osborne
"With back to back months of OEM sales in the neighborhood of 1 million Sirius XM Radio is virtually guaranteed . . . thus Sirius XM investors can have confidence in the current trends of the OEM channel."

Yup, your prescription has definitely changed Tyler . . . We're gonna need to do a visual field test. Have you been experiencing any headaches, dizziness or confusion? Any change in your medications recently? Are you still taking Lexapro?

Damn, this multiple choice is difficult. I have absolutely no idea. I will go with Kool-Aid just to be counterintuitive.

moral of the story: you must always take what the ass-clowns give you!

Always remember I am giving you a base line number and while there are subtractions that will have to be added in, the additions that I dont account for will almost always more then make up for any of those subtrations in subs such as a, higher churn will be cancelled out by retail.
John is in for a base line of 375,000. I'll take it any day. Anyone hear what other's are saying?

“Karmazin also spoke about Howard Stern. Mel loves Howard and what he brings to the company. He said he would love to re-sign Howard, Howard is fairly compensated since both companies signed off on his contract and that Howard has very loyal listeners. Howard and his stations are expensive though, there is no denying that. Mel hopes to have news by November’s conference call regarding Howard. He also commented that Howard’s listeners also listen to other Sirius XM channels. Some come for one thing, and stay for another. Many of Sirius XM’s channels have a large interest base. For instance, the Playboy station is a huge programming success for Sirius XM with over 4 million subscribers having to activate that channel due to age consent requirements. Mel spoke proudly of how they do not use tracking chips or tracking information on each consumer. They greatly respect the privacy of every customer, but in the Playboy channel’s situation (having to physically activate it even though it’s free) gives them insight into the popularity of some of their other channels.”

Lol - Gotta love that counterintuitive reasoning . Thanks for playing Lloyd . . . you're the best!

Either "D" or "E" or both "D & E" together would have been acceptable answers. Tyler has never referenced "Limburger Cheese" (stinks) or "Day-Old Bread" (stale) in defending the virtues of Internet Radio.

He has, however, accused satrad loyalists of drinking Kool-Aid!

And for "airman" (who I know plays along at home), Tyler referenced "$7.00 a tub popcorn" in his now famous radio debate with muscle. He has also repeatedly referenced "pie" as in "Sirius XM must maintain and grow their portion of the digital music pie" (because Tyler falsely assumes a zero-sum-game in which the pie itself cannot be enlarged - but that's a topic for another day).

    Thanks again Lloyd!
