No One Takes Sirius XM Alive

No One Takes Sirius XM Alive
    By Rick Aristotle Munarriz
    February 8, 2011

"We're now just weeks away from the second anniversary of Liberty Capital's (Nasdaq: LCAPA) bankruptcy-saving loan to Sirius XM Radio (Nasdaq: SIRI). This opens up the possibilities for Liberty Capital's 40% preferred-share stake in the satellite radio giant. Some are suggesting that Liberty Capital's John Malone . . . . . . . . . "

    Feb 09, 2011 (M2 PRESSWIRE via COMTEX) --
BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 2568 companies with "abnormal" market making . . . .

Premium Radio's Growing Wall of Worry
    By Rick Aristotle Munarriz
    February 7, 2011

"Pandora has succeeded by scaling its service through millions of subscribers. It offers premium access to paying subscribers or heavy users who value the service the most, but its mainstream success hinges entirely on its ability to remain a streaming freebie for the masses . . . ."

Why have I selected the above excerpt? Hm? As Tyler Savery once warned me . . think deeper man.

Be Prepared for the Refinancing Charges!

    homer985:

"Q4 of 2009 saw a profit of $14MM... can they have done enough to make up the above charges and still pull another profit this year? That's my concern. If some are looking for Q4 to be huge... I hope they considered everything, as we have. You appear to be looking at around $22MM... with the charges you would have called for $105MM or so? I can come close to seeing that... just hard to say for sure. But I'm right there with you on the charges total . . . . . I come to about $83MM in Q4 charges to Loss on Extinguishment of Debt. If Sirius were to pull a profit out of Q4, they'd have to do it in the face of this $80MM-$85MM charge to shareholders.

Take that as a very good sign Chuck!

When homer shows up . . . it usually means someone has made a very bad mistake.

Has anyone here had an issue with their lifetime subscriptions? I hope this is isolated but, it sounds like there are at least thousands of people out there that meet this criteria. This shit makes me so mad that I want to stop coming to my own website and reading sirius xm news for a week.

    http://www.timesunion.com/local/arti...ss-1006251.php

"I turned on my car radio, and it just said 'no satellite service,'" Anne told me. "At first, I thought it was just a fluke, but it didn't come back. I logged onto my account (online) and I was denied access to it."
"One likely reason that the issue is emerging now, based on what others have told me, is that XM's subscriber information system was just "migrated" to the Sirius system late last year. Under the Sirius system, multiple plans purchased by one subscriber must have the same start and end dates. This means the company needs to develop a "fix" for people who bought lifetime subscriptions.

Anne Bielkiewicz told me one Sirius XM rep she spoke with said the staff has been flooded with calls from people who have lost their service without explanation."
