5 democrats from minnesota asking for concessions

It's so nice to know that with a war in Iraq, a war in afghanistan, flooding in the midwest, a global food and oil crisis, that these 5 miscreants have nothing better to do than interfere with the FCC and a merger of 2 companies that less than 1 % of the population subscribes to. Republican opposition in Mn., you know what to do!

Well I look at it this way; so there are 10 to 20 members of congress that have openly opposed the merger. A few have openly supported it. That means that there are at least 400 plus that don't give a rats @ss about it, at least not enough to oppose it. Lets hope that the FCC commissioners that are considering approving the deal look at it along those lines.

It however does really make me sick to my stomach when they use that "will hurt consumers/not in public interest" rhetoric. They are a bunch of whores on the take, that's all.

If they really cared about the consumers they would have at least taken an official survey of service subscribers to get their view point on the merger.

I would sooo love it if the FCC approves this deal when they are all out for the summer.

And don't even get me started on the DA's....bunch of crooked flunkies that think they now better and have more accurate info than the DOJ.

see my other post regarding Rehr. He spoke at a conference in MN. today...I wonder how much money was in those clean white envelopes?

How I love these self discussions! Just dug this up. I'm wondering if one of the commissioners is from Minnesota...seems to be a battleground state like Tennessee..

American Public Media is out of Mn. They have consistant filings with the FCC asking for a 25 % set aside...

Bought and paid for by the NAB.

Seeing as the FCC has threw out the Georgetown Partners asking for 20% of free spectrum, I'm sure the FCC will throw this out as well.

    5 NABBS fr MINNEY

Hey, these arguments are the best money can buy. It's good strategy. Ignore all the people who are for it; ignore the DOJ; FCC chief; the former FCC chief who now is for the merger and says that in todays environment he would have supported one company; ignore the fact that most independent thinkers say it is more competitive than monopoly. I love the diversity of music, sports and commments and special shows. I don't see that anywhere else, maybe TV. It even competes with TV in my estimation. Especially when there is nothing of value on. Which is a lot during this 'reality' phase that we are enduring. I have heard Howard once. That was enough for me. I would never pay for just profanity and shock. But I really can't judge from just one show. Like the IPOD. I don't have one and aren't too familiar. But I can't imagine they have the content of Sirius/FM.
