Another thing that's a little tricky with gold stocks is that, they are stocks, so sometimes, they'll get whacked along with stocks, even if gold rallies, but in general they follow gold. To me, the key seems to be you look for some type of support level, a pull back to that level, and signs of reversal in the candles, then quickly go long. As this last pullback was a little bigger than previous, it's better to swing trade them I think, or at least swing trade a few to get a lead, then maybe stick in a little longer, that was my mistake this time, had some decent gains. Last time I played them, I did swing trading first, then held a little longer and got some decent profit out of it.

That and, I should have been more aware that we were up against resistance in gold futures, so likely the biggest pullback would be there, in hindsight, which though is easy to see - but also helpful for the future, I'll be keeping a note on that for sure.

    Dave,
It's great to hear from you again, you old bear...LOL

Thanks for the posts, you've given us something to think about now.

Leaves me with 2 gold stocks.

If you look at gold stocks, and gold trading, it rides little waves. For normal stocks, I buy on breakouts out of patterns, ie. when there is a big move up on volume. For gold stocks, you try to see the overall intermediate/long term pattern but play the dips.

I bought AUY and NSU on a couple of dips, but rather than swinging out, I was hoping for another dip and a further move up. So right now, I'm down a couple percent today, as gold futures pulled back to the 34 ema.

So far it bounced off of that line, now looking for a reversal candle. At this point, the chart is a little predictable, so not sure if we'll get another rally here or not. So, keeping my stops pretty tight. Last time the GC (gold futures) pulled back to this level, there was the same type of volume, and a pretty good bounce. Entry would be after some reversal candles, and the first sign of moving up.

But in all honesty, the market is really tricky, and I'm pretty bearish. Germany I guess put in a halt on short selling some stocks. This removes liquidity, and as one of the guys I followed pointed out, when the US did it around the week of sept 15-22, when the sp500 (please look at a chart here) was at about 1200, it rallied for about a day or two to 1250... from there the market hit it's supreme downtrend to the 600's. You remove liquidity and the ability for people to trade one way, and also introduce fear into the market - ie. things are so bad, we have to ban short selling, then the smart money is left with the option of getting out of their longs (or go long, but who would do that after all these gains and with all the volatility).

Therefore, for me, I'm just basically kind of sitting out.

Regarding penny stocks, these of course aren't really linked to general market action, but I've also heard that buying has subsided a little - but who knows how credible that is, in pennies.

Right now, there is a decent bounce of off some fibs for the GDX (gold miners) and $HUI (gold bug index), so I'm looking to hold one more day.

Anyway, in 2008, I didn't have the market awareness that I do now, and that year hurt me, until I learned more on how to play with the general direction, and then I recovered in terms of trading stocks, hurt myself a little more with options, lol. But this time, I'm just sitting out, I won't really be going long any stocks. Maybe an odd OTCBB swing trade or a penny here and there, but with very small positions. That and keeping a close eye on these gold stocks.

It's easier when there is a less volatile trend going. When it's all crazy, I'd rather sit out.

Sure, there will be massive rallies, and such, but I'm not confident in my ability to time them at this moment, and also, I have a different trading style than you guys... our styles are different, so the way to play is different. Anyway, all the indicators that I use for the general market are bearish at the moment.

    I picked another 200K today below .007!

The conference call was pretty good.

The big loan fell apart. But, other funding is being worked on.

Mineseeker should bring in nearly a billion bucks over the next 5 years.

The CEO has purchased 20 million shares this month and loaned the company over a million dollars.

All in all, I think it sounds like the start of a nice big aerospace company. I'm super happy with my investment and I expect that I will be happier as the months go by.

It will be very interesting to watch the share movement over the next few days.

The conference call will be available on the company website by the morning if not tonight.

I hope this works out well for all of us Andy. I've never been to Alaska. Maybe this will pay for a visit up that way.

    Chuck

Hey Dave!!! Glad to hear from you again....always enjoyed reading your posts, even though much of it is way above my head, it's just nice to see the gang chiming in every now and then.

Chuck...I tried picking up another 175k today, but was unsuccessful, first tried at .0063, then again @ .0065. Now looking back I shoulda bought at the ask .0069 instead of getting greedy, all for a measly 5k share difference!!! Oh well.....I hope it runs huge tomorrow!!!! But knowing how this has been reacting to news, maybe Ill have a chance at picking up some at .0055!!!! I sure hope not, I'm not sure my stomach can handle another day 

    Andy,
Here is a little clearer description of the conference call from QASP today. I lifted this from another site.

    CONFERENCE CALL SUMMARY:

$900 million in revenues from Mineseeker from ONE contract in Croatia alone! Huge potential for many more contracts. Presenting to UN first week of June.

    Absolutely NO R/S

$50 million bridge loan closing very shortly

$350 million funding closing very shortly; eliminated the middle men in Chicago and is dealing directly with the bondbrokers in London. In constant daily contact until funding closes. Bonds are fully subscribed so funding is definitely imminent.

$200-250 million revenue from brand new helicopter parts (they will have the corner on the world market for these parts)

    Buyback will continue shortly

Insiders haven't sold a single share and are continuing to buy

Stock price is at ridiculously low prices and Dean is using every dime he gets to buy shares

All 6 acquisitions will close before June 30

Auditors arrive tomorrow. Audited financials will be released as amended financials in June.

Tiger Fish has meeting scheduled with Beechcraft, for RAPT on King Airs aircraft.

Indian flight school students will be cleared by the state dept. after financials amended.

New WEEKLY update every Wed at 4:00 Eastern time

Nice lift there ... from the shrub?

I got in on the call and it started out almost a disaster, with Dean threatening to call it quits ... He didn't realize he needed to mute the call on his end for a bit and we could hear a baby crying in the background, besides other people chiming in ... Someone came in and told him which button to push and he muttered "Sorry folks, technically challenged". After that all the noise stopped and it was far clearer ..

Missing from this summary - One of the guys on the shrub had compiled a list of questions and I was very pleased to hear that Dean responded to a concern\suggestion that I had voiced, as well as others about his PR's - He frankly admitted that he thought he was clever and had made a mistake, that he thought he was helping save the company money doing them on his own. He is handing this over now and will be hiring a professional PR firm.

The other big whopper was at the end when he called out "some of the idiots on ihub", namely samplescave (The resident basher) - It was unbelievable! He challenged him to go ahead and sue him, but didn't think he had the cajoles to do so and went further by challenging him to put up 10K against his 10K that the 6 acquisitions would be closed before the end of June. 10k to samples if he was wrong and samples 10K donated to the Red Cross if he was right.

The guy is just blunt, a bit sassy, old school ... I just can't but help love the guy - No BS. It was the best CC I have ever listened to ... had me cracking up the rest of the afternoon.

Andy, I picked up another 130K yesterday @ .07 - I'll never catch you guy's but ... Hang in there man, we are going to be alright.

That was a great pick! I was so busy playing with QASP that I've missed the ride altogether.

Speaking of QASP, today at 4 is the CC that could bring us the news that could spark the next run.......notice the use of the word could...LOL
Man, I have been really fighting a case of the woulda, shoulda, couldas with that 20/20 hindsight. Had wrestled with the idea back .05-.06 to grab more but ... Couldn't be more happy with this, right now it is offsetting the paper losses on the "Q" so, in the quirky psychological stock sense .. it all looks pretty good

It hit .24 before tailing back to settle at a shade under .20 - Nice, slow and steady climb. Just too darned expensive now to add, well, that might change as well
