In a company PR release on Wednesday, Sirius XM (NASDAQ:SIRI) announced that conservative talk show host Glenn Beck will be added to the Satellite Radio provider’s line-up beginning on May 17th. His popular radio program will air live from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm EST daily. The Glen Beck Program is currently syndicated by Premiere Radio Networks and heard on over 400 terrestrial radio stations nationally. While not exclusive content to Sirius XM, millions of listeners to Glenn Beck’s daily radio show will now have another reason to steer clear of the terrestrial radio dial. How much of an impact will this have to Sirius XM’s subscriber growth and what could this mean for future content deals?

Conservative talk radio is huge. With terrestrial radio on life support, it could be argued that conservative talk has been responsible for its survival. According to TALKERS Magazine, which uses Aribitron reports combined with other data from rated and non-rated markets in its analysis, the top 4 radio programs in America are all conservative talk programs. Rush Limbaugh holds the top spot with 15.25 million weekly listeners. Sean Hannity, who’s show is also syndicated on Sirius XM’s Patriot channel, holds the second spot with 14.25 million weekly listeners. Glenn Beck, who’s show comes to Sirius XM on May 17th, comes in third with over 9 million weekly listeners. Michael Savage comes in a close fourth with about 9 million weekly listeners. Conservative talk show hosts Mark Levin, Laura Ingram, Mike Gallagher, Jerry Doyle, Michael Medved, Bill Bennet, Alan Colmes and Rusty Humphries were also included in the top radio audiences list.

The top 3 radio programs in America, The Rush Limbaugh Show, The Sean Hannity Show and The Glenn Beck Show, are all syndicated by Premiere Radio Networks Inc.. Sirius XM has now reached deals to carry 2 of their top 3 programs, Sean Hannity and now Glenn Beck. Is Rush Limbaugh next? There are arguments for the possibility. While it wasn’t disclosed how much Sirius XM paid for the rights to syndicate The Glenn Beck Show, it can easily be assumed that it was much less than it would of been for exclusive broadcast rights. As with The Sean Hannity Show, The Glenn Beck Show will also continue to be syndicated on over 400 terrestrial radio stations across the country. The Rush Limbaugh Show is currently broadcast on over 600 terrestrial radio stations nationwide. I’m sure Rush Limbaugh would like to be heard by as many Americans as possible. While Sirius XM might not be able to afford the exclusive rights to The Rush Limbaugh Show, based on the co-syndication deals with the Hannity and Beck shows, there remains a possibility that Rush Limbaugh could be next.

Yeah i read it. I work with "news reporters" all the time. Some of the good ones are great at reading off the teleprompter, but when you talk to them off the air they think they can see Russia from their house. lol. If you know what i mean?

Im forgetting. Did Palin read sports, news or both. How many years was she on the air for?

Anyone that has seen Obama not use a teleprompter knows that. Biden is known for being the gaff master for a reason. Obama how many states do we have again??? was it 57 or 58. Biden when was TV invented or when was FDR president????

You dont just get put into reporting at the main desk without first doing commentary or correspondence first.

I guess you dont think when military jets are scambled from the guard and are sent up because of a airspace violations from Russia noone informs the governor. Do you really think the governor does not have to deal with complaints we and the russians have made when both do it. To a lesser extent you must not think fishing violations occur of both counties. These are things the governor has to deal with. I guess you dont think ether are considerd interNATIONAL insidents or the governors of the states involved are informed or have to deal with it.

Thanks, I am only putting the information out there and letting the people around him decide on if they want go to his place or the Walmart, Bath and body works, or the dozens of other places, closest to him. I leave that up to them.

This is why I think adding the Conservative Hosts will be great for the bottom line. I can just hear it now. Howard ranting, Glenn ranting back, it'll be as funny as watching you and John going at it.

Sounds like "TruGreen ChemLawn" . . . those pr!cks tried the same scam on me . . . 6 treatments with 1 for free if you prepay but I didn't prepay

I too always checked yard for evidence of granules . . what po'd me was they would sneak in 2 treatments on the same visit, like Grub Control and Fertilizer so I would then find a double-bill on my front door; Called and told them they should discount price because they were saving a trip.

Then got hit 1 year with "army worms" that supposedly blew in with a hurricane and destroyed the whole lawn . . so much for the treatments.

Called and told them not renewing; next spring guy pulls up with truck . . I ran out and told him no way . . then sent certified letter for proof of nonrenewal. They called and sent letters for months trying to get me to renew.

They would also put treatment down in December, sometimes with leaves still on the lawn . . .

BTW, I was paying close to $70 per treatment. I do my own now . . 4-Step Scotts and it is as green and lush as when ChemLawn did it.

P.S. Reminds me of Columbia House Records & Tapes when we were kids and you could get like 10 records or tapes for a penny but you had to buy 8 more and then they would just send you stuff randomly that you had to return within a set time or be stuck paying for it . . . and you could never get them to stop - lol
