    Sirius Weekly Thread 10-26-2009

    Did I start this thing right? I figured, what the hell. Hopefully this wek will start to show some promise.

    Get out the pom-poms.

    Gonna be another down quarter. Wish I had some moolah to pick up more shares when this thing gets into the mid-forty range. Oh well.

    Good morning mrm and all

    Good job!! I have been really slacking. Does this mean I
    am out of a job? Hopefully I will get paid unemployment.
    Of course that also means I will need to actively seek work
    at other sites in order to collect. Let me see now, there is
    always Yazoo. They seem like they would appreciate my
    sense of humor. And I just know they are just aching for
    my Michigan weather reports. Also, they don't
    care whether or not I post a link. In fact they love rumors
    over there. The more the merrier! Name calling, not a problem!
    And I can make up several aliases, one where I could direct
    people to this site and so they could read my views here.
    Sounds like a win-win to me!

    Have a good day/week everyone.

    Julie

    Wishful thinking mertz, but it's only rising from here in coming days.

    I think I hear crickets on this website.

    buy opportunity. thestreet.com & goldman sachs

    while it is slow (chirp-chirp; chirp-chirp) . . . I will probably use this valuable time:

    1.) To take the gift that is being offered now and lower my cost basis;

    2.) To start a new thread on my picks for the most poorly managed internet companies . . like thestreet.com and why thestreet.com is poorly capitalized and destined for bankruptcy court;

    3.) And then I may wish to point out how Goldman Sachs was conveniently granted "Bank Holding Company" status by feds . . . even though they do no commercial banking business of any kind . . whatsoever . . maybe I will call them up today . . yank them around a little . . ask them if I can get a free toaster for opening a pass-book account . . ask them for a list of branches in my area . . see if they will refinance my mortgage? Phone: (212) 902-1000

    Hey julietoo . . call up Goldman Sachs today and tell them you are looking for a position as a teller . . ask where to fax your resume. When you get the switchboard . . . just ask for Lloyd Blankfein . . . tell him SRK referred you, ok?

    I may also want to ask them about their claims in the Lehman Brothers Bankruptcy . . which they publicly said to their shareholders in Sept 2008 would not have an appreciable effect on their operating results . . yet if you look at their claims . . billions . . you do the math . .

    Oh how I wish there was a way to really bring them to their knees! Oh yeah, and while they were down on their knees I'd, er...nevermind.

    Naw - you haven't been slacking at all. It's just been so dead in here (again, relationship to how SIRI performs) I even debated on whether we really NEEDED to start a thread for this week! I told my buddy here at work that I don't bother to check how SIRI is doin' anymore, all I do is check how many posts there are on the daily forum here and I can use that as a gauge as to how well SIRI is doin'. And by the way, you give good weather reports.

    I asked this before a little while back but seeing how we are closing in on 3Q;

    excluding those holding long positions, how is everybody playing their money? Cash in the day before the release? The morning of? Wait it out and hope it doesn't gap down that morning and expect a ride up and continue holding through 4Q? Set trailing stops a few days out from 3Q and wait? Hold all the way regardless until it goes over $1.00 (which now that I think of it may actually be a "long" position the way things have been going recently!). Not to hex SIRI, but I don't think that we'll come close to $1.00 this quarter. If we did I'd be surprised. Like a said before, anything short of announcing a profit per share at all will be spun with this stock as "the glass is half empty" instead of the other way around.

    So many options, so many investment styles - I guess if the market was easy to play everybody's last name would be Buffet.
