stratus 5 car kit at home

I just purchased Status 5 with car kit.I want to use it at home.is the car antenna just as strong at receiving a signal as a home antenna. really don't want to purchase a home kit. I have a power adapter that works and i'm just hooking it up to my computer.

A magnetic car antenna will only work outside w/ a clear view of the open sky, I have 2 of them on the highest point attached to a metal-ground-plane (like on a car) on my roof, but, since you only have one that you use in your car, moving it around could break it, you might wanna buy another one, so, you don't have to move it form your car......but, a home antenna will work just as well in a north facing window, or better, if you can get it outside.......

you can use the XM home antenna, but, with my experience, I've always had problems with an XM-only antenna on a SIR-radio, it worked, but, not as well as a SRI-antenna did

Take a look at THIS: and find out what area you live in, that will determine what direction you should point your SRI-home-antenna
