They do have good talk shows on sirius fm but i can find them on the internet for free and load them on my mp3 player with all the comercials edited out . Or if I'm at work I have pirate streams for Howard 100 and the Virius and they are free !
What productive adult has the time to do all that nonsense. Probably the same kind that would cancel their service and still spend their time posting nonsense on that services websites. I would GLADLY pay 2 or 3 dollars more a month (even though i'm a lifetime sub) to NOT spend any of my time doing what you just said. SiriusXM to me is ALL about convenience and content. And on top of that, it's really F-in cool. What you just said is in no way convenient. And DEFINATELY not cool. And I giuarantee your not getting ALL their content for free pirated with any kind of reliability.
I have about 70 HD channels for cable, I guess I could cancel that and my LCD coold decode about 6 or 7 for free. I could also maybe splice into 1 of my neighbors cable lines and "pirate" their signal. But I don't, cuz that would make me a SHIT head. You say that Sirius has turned to shit over the last 3 years...I say your nuts. 3 years ago Horward came to Sirius...I say their greatness had just begun. 1/09/06 Raise The Fist

Shoutcast has been streaming the Stern show for about 6 years now and is very reliable (more so than Sirius online ) Redskunk has it a few hours after it airs with all the comercials edited out for years now . All this only takes a few clicks of the mouse and takes no time at all . Jason Ellis , O & A and a few other shows are availible for download or pirate streamed as well . You keep paying my friend .

If you don't like SXM so much , then why are you here posting in this forum, people in here do happen to love this service cause they like it's content, if you don't that's fine, you never seem to have anything good to say in this forum, and your posting history says you don't, no one is holding a Gun to your head and making you pay for a service you don't like, if you have an axe to grind then that's fine, but stop trying to be a troll and tell people what you think they shouldn't do, it's painfully obvious that you do like something about SXMs content, are you wouldn't be listening to it somewhere else, without paying for it, if that is your point of posting this garbage in a Sirius XM Fan site, if you get it for free, I'm happy for you, but no body cares if you don't want to pay for your SXM, like most all of us in here do

maybe you should go read THIS: http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-an-internet-troll.htm

If you renew your annual subscription early, will you beat the increase for a year?

denb45, and Qsela34 should probably read this:
    http://www.consumeraffairs.com/home_...cs/sirius.html
(32 pages of complaints and horrible experiences from people dealing with Sirius XM.)

For those who advocate for lifelong subs, here's someone's experience from the same page above:
Initially I was not interested since the lifetime subscriptions are tied to the radio. They told me that was the case however you are allowed three transfers. I had my current radio since 2005 and it was always reliable never gave me a problem. I figured if all my radio's lasted half as long I would still make out in the long run so I decided to go with it.

Well right after my third and final installment on the lifetime subscription my radio fails. I call Sirius and the customer service rep works with me for a few minutes, sends a signal and the radio comes back, I figure all is well. The same thing happens the next day and a different rep tells me I need a new radio, there's nothing they can do. I send an email to Sirius letting them know that I thought the rep should have at least tried to help and not write off the radio without any troubleshooting. I get an email back with an apology and a side note saying that if it's a Sirius branded radio and it's under warranty that there would be no transfer fee. I replied back inquiring about this "transfer fee". I get a response back saying that there is a 75.00 transfer fee plus a 15.00 activation fee!

So, with the lifetime subscription, that's not really lifetime, there are costs associate with the transfers. There was never any mention of additional fees in any of my conversations with Sirius during the whole process of setting up the lifetime subscription. I was left with the impression that I could transfer receiver's 3 times, this is what made this subscription attractive.

Those of you who say that the additional fees that will come into effect in a couple of days come from RIAA or from the Government and that Sirius has nothing to do with it, should probably do some research and see that those fees were always in effect (they didn't exist and still don't for AM/FM radio, but satellite companies were always paying them.) What was different before is that Sirius opted to "eat those fees up" in competition with XM, which now is not necessary since that are a monopoly, and that is what I would blame the Government for.

To retort denb45, who says that people who criticize Sirius don't like it, let me tell you, I have 3 current subs and I used to support that company all the way, until the last week when I had to go through ordeal of dealing with their billing dept. In a nutshell, I was trying to pay for one more year for one sub. It didn't go through online, telling me that my card is invalid. Then I called their customer service phone line and had some outsourced person process my payment. When I checked it the next day it turned out that she applied it to the wrong radio. What ensued after that are 2-3 hours wasted on the phone with another customer rep that in the end assured me that I'll get a partial refund. Now, several days later, I still don't show it on my credit card and I don't think I will.

The bottom line is that Sirius is not what it used to be back in 2005. It went downhill a big time. They operate now like a sleazy online porn business. Did you know that if you paid for your service with a credit card (even once) they will continue charging that same card for the same service without even asking you? You won't get a bill or a reminder beforehand. Also, do you know that they have an early cancellation fee if someone is inaccurate enough to sign up and forgets to cancel after 6 days? All would go well for you until you stumble into any of those hellish situations of getting a "fair deal".

Also, denb45, and Qsela34, why would I keep paying the company that slashed my favorite music channel during that merger, "supposedly beneficial for consumer", and brought in a bunch of channels I don't give a hoot about?

I'm now strongly considering canceling all my subs when the expiration date approaches and then on, will do like "fm no more" suggested. iPods and other media players these days allow to load up hours and hours of music, which for a long drive will sound exactly the same as repetitions on those radio music stations anyway, with an added bonus of being free! As for the Strern show, I'm sure it's easy to download it and have all the commercials removed from it as well, which, contrary to Qsela34's statement, should be a paid service, when indeed it's free as well!

Last thing I'm going to say, I do not advocate piracy, but I am a proponent of a fair treatment. If the company like Sirius XM doen't honor a "fair deal" with their customers, I'm going to do the same in return.
