And? What does this mean? Did it blow off because it was windy out?

I have no idea. That is why I am asking you. I mean...is it significant or was it covered in bird shit? I mean there could be a million reasons why it was taken down. If it is because it ripped in the wind...is this really news?

I don't know. If you want to speculate it could one of two things:

1- NAB is throwing in the towel because they were told the merger will be approved.

2- They are in the process of putting up a victory banner because the merger was denied.

    Pick one...I like #1.

Will the victory banner have a picture of Johnny Drama yelling victory? If so, I would be happy with #1 although #2 would not sting as bad.

I agree but it really could be anything. It has been windy around here lately.

I think Mel Gibson reinactment of Braveheart would be better...

    FREEDOM!!!!!!

Actually, I think the NAB is going to reverse course on the merger now that the FCC is looking into loosening restrictions on media ownership. Did you see the filing they made with the FCC on that one? I'll quote it for you:

"This continuing proliferation of outlets and rapid pace of technological change in the media marketplace further underscores the need for Commission action to update its ownership rules," the NAB wrote in the filing. "Only competitively viable broadcast stations sustained by adequate advertising revenues can serve the public interest effectively and provide a significant local presence." (emphasis added)
    How does that one sound?

Edit: Figured some of you might want to see this, so the Link is here
