    Seeking Alpha

    Effective June 30th, 2009, SiriusBuzz has requested that Seeking Alpha cease from republishing content from this website. This decision was made by SiriusBuzz for various reasons. We wanted to inform readers here that also frequent Seeking Alpha that our content will no longer be available on that site.

    This decision should not impact readers in any way, as all articles that were republished by Seeking Alpha were published here first. We hope that readers will respect this decision.

    Thank your support and readership.

    Tyler,

    Will this free you up to do more stock analysis?
    LOL....No, it wont save me any time. Seeking Alpha basically "mines" the site and picks articles that they want to re-publish.

    Clarity.....

    I have always adhered to the standards of being a seeking alpha gold contributor, and intend to continue to go by these standards. In particular, I believe that the requirements regarding trades are very important. I do not regularly trade Sirius XM, and any trade I do make is within the framework outlined below. Seeking Alpha relies on the honor system with these policies, and I am proud to say that I have always honored their policies.

    The Seven Conditions of Gold Standard Certification

    1. Author Qualification - Authors attest that they have never been prosecuted for or sued about any securities-related issue, and that they have never been barred from the securities industry or convicted of a felony.

    2. Disclosure of Positions - Authors agree to disclose the existence at the time of writing of a long or short position (including stocks, options or other instruments) in any stock mentioned in an article. The suggested form of disclosure is to add the following to the bottom of articles: Full disclosure: Long GOOG at time of writing. Authors may not write about a stock with the intention to boost or reduce the stock's price and sell (or buy) the stock into the resulting strength or weakness. If the author intends at the time or writing to sell or buy a stock within three days of publication of an article that discusses that stock, the author must disclose this.

    3. Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest
    Authors agree to disclose any material relationships with companies whose stocks they write about or parties that stand to gain in any way from the viewpoint they are outlining. Examples: authors must disclose if they are employed by a company whose stock they are writing about; perform consulting for a company they write about; receive paid advertising revenue or any other form of sponsorship fee from a company they write about. This applies to narrow asset classes as well. For example, if an author is paid to promote a gold dealer, that must be disclosed in any article about gold.

    4. Non-Infringement of Copyright
    Authors must attest that any articles submitted for publication to Seeking Alpha are their own work and do not infringe upon the rights of any other party. If other sources are quoted, the source must be cited and the quote must be within fair use.

    5. Commitment to Accuracy
    Authors must certify that all facts in articles submitted to Seeking Alpha are accurate to the best of his/her knowledge.

    6. Inappropriate Promotion and Other Material
    Authors' web sites, which Seeking Alpha will be asked to link to, may not contain any illegal or offensive material, such as racism and pornography.
    Authors must substantiate any claims about their investment track records on their web sites, if such a claims are made. Authors may not make any guarantees or explicit predictions regarding the market performance that subscribers to their paid newsletters can expect. Authors' web sites must not contain misleading or excessively promotional language.

    7. Anonymity and Accountability - Authors must provide their real names and contact information to Seeking Alpha, even if they intend their articles to be published anonymously.

    Glad you have decided to cut them off! I have never been to that site so you have my support!

    Saw the movie, good job Tyler and Relmor! I don't know what to think of Hartlieb or whatever. It is hard to judge his character... Sometimes people lose in the market, get over it? Was it true what he said about Mel saying he would like to take this company private at these levels? I remember those debates before, but he never came up with evidence to back up his claims. Maybe he just works for NAB... I don't know lol.

    The manipulation stuff was kind of scary and makes me think that it is going to be very hard to rise from these levels with all the naked shorting...

    The uptick rule doesn't seem like it is ever going to be put back into place. It was very stupid of them to remove it!

    I do not claim to be an intelligent about investing....

    I have one little gripe about the movie, and I apologize if it was done by anyone here. I didn't like the narrator, I think his voice and the way he spoke took away from the movie. JMO

    Why? Because you dont like that they pick and choose?

    Various reasons.

    I did not care that they picked and chose articles. That was fine to me.

    There are issues that I became very concerned about that had continued to happen. It was enough that I became uncomfortable continuing the relationship. I do not want to go into this part of my reasoning in a public forum.

    There are also financial issues. Seeking Alpha sells my content to sites such as Yahoo, and I get nothing from that sale. The only thing I get as a contributiong author are the possible linkbacks to the site, which is infrequent because they publish the entire article.

    There are issues of accuracy. The editors are not as versed in specific equities as the writers who are contributors. There is also a delta between what the contributors understand, and the level of accuracy in articles. In my opinion, there have been some articles picked up by Seeking Alpha that should have never been picked up because of gross inaccuarcies. In fairness to Seeking Alpha, they have to rely on the contributor to have done their own homework. That is obviously not happening, and SIRI is only one of hundreds of stocks that they publish about. I can not speak for articles on other equities.

    There are many-many problems with SA that I believe are damaging to the SB brand . . . not the least of which is the retitling of SB articles in a sensationalistic way that has often resulted in unfair criticism of SB authors and perhaps caused SA readers to misinterpret the actual content of the article;

    SA readers fail to understand that, generally speaking, SB authors do not reply to SA posts as they are not the moderators of the site . . SA readers thus incorrectly assume that their posts are being "ducked" by SB authors;

    Additionally, SB has had a long tradition of generally being censorship-free . . I should know, I have posted some real doozies in the past . . never once being censored. That speaks to the integrity and credibility of the SB site. Censorship at SA, however, is a fairly frequent occurrence that unwittingly damages the SB brand over confusion of who is moderating the content (SA readers sometimes mistakenly believe the author "pulled" a particular post)

    Lay down with dogs . . . wake-up with fleas. The SB quality of writing and analysis (read Tyler Savery) is superior to anything elsewhere on the web. The SB brand is potentially damaged by association to other authors and articles that are fraught with error, unsupported opinions and speculative assumptions;

    SA epitomizes hypocrisy . . their own policies preclude acceptance of articles covering stocks that trade below $1.00 yet, it appears, they have made a convenient exception in the case of Sirius XM;

    The SB team has had to make some tough decisions over the past few months . . . in one man's opinion, they have made all the right calls for the long term credibility and viability of the site. Product differentiation and content exclusivity is not a bad thing . . .
