It's been posted many times, but for those still wondering when the launch will take place, we are about 1 hour 20 minutes from liftoff. Check here: http://www.ilslaunch.com/ there is a link to where you can watch it live starting 15 minutes from liftoff.

I sure hope this new sat has 9 years of new technology on it.

The problem is it should be 13 or 14 years between launches. Satellites cost about 800 to 875 million it is not like a new cell phone where just because the tech changes you get a new one. The orbital lifespans are 15 years, thats a cost of 57 million per satellite per year over 14 years. It jumbs to 89 million per satellite per year at just 9 years. That an extra cost of 32 million per year per satellite. That in my minds eye does not make sense. XMSR had to do their launches early due to premature failures on their satellites.

trippingthespeculatingpos, I have been all over the people that have tried to call this PPS on the short term, or have you forgot the arguement I had with Brandon and relmor on this issue. There is one simple thing they cannot contend with and that is they have given it both ways in almost all of their predictions so they could try and say they were correct no matter what happened.

relmor, well at least you are going out some distance of time, I would still like to see some reasoning for your prediction though.

Would you be surprised if it exploded on the launch pad? I would simply mutter un****ingbelievable to myself and close the browser window.

without a doubt. probably not an investor here that isn't worried. Of course when it gets off the ground then there are 5 separate burns befor final spacecraft separation at approx 0030 EDT. and then... and then..

    PPS Predictions anyone? lol

If it blows up on the launch pad, what do you think will happen to the pps?

If it blows up after the point where we are not insured anymore?

    If it is a success?

Feels like Feb 17th all over again!
