How many people have more shares today, than they did at close on Thursday?

This might be helpful to see the retail sentiment from Fridays volume.
Or it might not, but at least we can see what fellow forum members did, without being named.

There are birds tweeting about saying it was nothing more than the Russel rebalance shares. Im hoping to discredit that with at least some research. Even rich investors have a fear/greed cycle, so you never know.
Of course, I dont think it was retailers adding.

No. Still not enough shares. 150 Russel, 160 Open short interest(that count does include any lent shares short too). More buying than that even.

so how many shares are unaccounted for, there was over 400 million on friday, is that what you are trying to do? seems we are missing about 110 million shares? If so, wouldn't that be the normal trading amount that was going on during the day?

550 million shares traded, including the russel shares. About 200 million that must have went long, or a new short simply closed into a new one. But thats seems silly to me. But it is possible. Like, im done shorting sirius, you want to now. Ok, here. Ill get these shares back at .30, no worries. With the information we have, that isnt impossible. But that would be the worst case scenario. More than likely, it was a new long position, and 200 million shares from retailers went bye bye.

The 120 million shares you are looking for, relmor, flew through the market beginning around 3:58pm eastern time on Friday. I watched it in real time on my iPhone via TDA's app.

At 3:58pm, our total daily volume was at 14x,000,000 shares.

Less than one and 1/2 minute later at 4:00pm eastern time, the total daily volume was right at 260 million shares.

In the blink of an eye...

I thinking paniced longs, and stop losses could equal a high amount of that volume on Friday.
