i don't mind the audio ads; if it's helpin ya'll pay the bills, that's cool;
i just hit the cancel volume button when they get annoying

Just tried Slacker for first time - so
for what it's worth, as I see them:
Plus's
1. Quick download; no blank spots or buffer delays in execution
2. Lots of choices for genre
3. Good sound
4. No BS with fees, setup, passwords, etc.
5. Ability to make your own playlists
Negatives
1. It's not Live Radio; when I hear the song, I know I'm the only listening; there's something different about radio entertainment when you know thousands and thousands of people all over are also hearing the same thing you're hearing
2. Can't play it in car
3. If I don't like the song that's up, it's a pain to go back into Slacker and change stations and then choose a good song to listen to; with siri i can channel cruise 10 stations and instantly see what's playing, while i'm driving.
4. It's a little addictive - takes away from getting real work done! I could see I could spend hours on this thing searching for favorite tracks, and not get any other shit done
Would I use it - Slacker - instead of paying SiriusXM a few bucks extra for internet radio, yeah, definitely.
Should they be paying royalties? Duh. Yeah. Everyone knows people set this thing up and then minimize the screen and then go back to whatever else they were doing, so so much for the click ads.
I click through to Sirius if the ad looks interesting. I frequently click through to to TSS-Radio to see if they have anything new. This type of site is ideal for advertisers since the ads can be targeted.
I have a Slacker plus account and a Slacker Portable Radio. It has largely replaced my homebound Stiletto 100 (second radio). While I haven't cancelled the Stiletto's service yet, if it broke, I wouldn't replace it.
i went to slacker.com and don't see anywhere that I can download the 3 hour
Emin3M interview and new album explained and played...so i just went to my
XMRADIO.COM account and im listening to it live right now.
