Im going with no, on the Bk for GM. Chrysler is not GM.
Media reported Chrysler would go bankrupt and they did. So your batting 0%

I quess we were reading from different media sources. It was quite clear from news reports that Chrysler was going bankrupt and joining forces with Fiat.
Anyway, enough of this discussion. Lets see what happens.

the media never put the focus on the debt holders... Instead they gave you obsticles they knew would clear. Reaching deals with treasury, union, fiat.. but it all came down to 2 debtholders. 2 debt holders caused the bk. So for you to say the media was always pointing at bk as inevitable is not true. they left it in doubt to the very last second.

    bearer of bad news

It's time for the sun to move into a busier period for sunspots, and while forecasters expect a relatively mild outbreak by historical standards, one major solar storm can cause havoc with satellites and electrical systems here.

Like hurricanes, a weak cycle refers to the number of storms, but it only takes one powerful storm to create chaos, said scientist Doug Biesecker of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's space weather prediction center.

A report by the National Academy of Sciences found that if a storm as severe as one in 1859 occurred today, it could cause $1 trillion to $2 trillion in damage the first year and take four to 10 years to recover.
Today there's a lot more than telegraph lines at stake. Vulnerable electrical grids circle the globe, satellites now vital for all forms of communications can be severely disrupted along with the global positioning system. Indeed, the panel warned that a strong blast of solar wind can threaten national security, transportation, financial services and other essential functions.

Don't forget Y2K hysteria, and the latest swine flu nonsense.....no worries on sun spots for now. We've seen these before....some mild disruption happened, nothing worth worrying about. But, of course, that's what scientists said about the chances of major tsunami before the one that nearly wiped out portions of Indonesia......

Everyone on the Howard Stern show needs to throw out the first pitch, it would be the greatest publicity stunt for Sirius XM ever.

Every major news org is picking this up

Never said media "was always" . i dont have to time to get all links but I remember many articles predicting Chrysler's bankruptcy because it was known that it was very unlikely they would ever get 90% of bondholders to agree to a deal to keep them out of bankruptcy. That is exactly what happened. By the way that's exactly what they are saying about the GM situation. The 90% of bondholders will probably not agree to what GM and the Govt want. Anyway we shall wee
