It is a shame that it came to this. In the end, I'll use both sites because we all have a common goal: The success of Sirius. I originally came here because of Tyler's SA articles and enjoyed Brandon's as well.

Homer985, I personally have never found you to be intimidating... Factual to a detail, knowledgeable about everything XM and Sirius, and now SXM. Always willing to share that information by providing links and document copy, to support your positions, and always kind with your corrections for most posters learning the ropes... including me over the last year... I would not define any of what you have shared as intimidating, unless one is intimidated by the facts....

    DLite

Whether Hartlieb would have a case or not is not material to what happened. He already has attorneys working for him on this issue. One more suit would not break the bank. Even if his stance had no legal merit, if he decided to sue, I and the site would have to obtain council. That costs money, and even though I feel I would prevail, it stinks to spend money needlessly.

I am not defending Hartlieb and his stance on the happenings of satellite radio. However, I will say that a writer on this site needs to be more careful when writing. If it was any old poster, there would be no cause for actiuon. Because it was a writer, there is possible action. Saying "Hartlieb Harasses Women" simply was not needed, and in point of fact there is no proof that it is accurate. His calls to one woman....Calderone could be construed as harassment, but that is a matter of opinion. Until there is something to say that he indeed harassed someone, it is not appropriate for a writer on this site to state that he harasses all women.

    Oh why not ...

We have strived to deliver great content, an awesome forum, and an overall place where investors and fans can congregate. To see those efforts undermined is a very sad. It has always been my hope that various satellite radio sites could be friendly competitors without bringing in added drama. As a fan of satellite radio, I have seen what has transpired in the past with Backstage, XM Fan and XM411. I do not want to see those troubling times happen again.
I think you have and am greatly indebted to SB as a new investor and for the collective wisdom that is here. Being so new this may seem all a bit presumptuous but take it with that in mind.

I have moderated a site for the past six years and have seen a great deal of voracity, had to deal with the truly unruly and 'our' particular stance and experience has been almost 100% to do with conduct and behavior of the members and sometimes the unfortunate removal of them.

One thing I do know quite well is how this medium is wrought with misunderstanding - It's a given and a constant. People misconstrue and read into things that are not there or just confuse matters by their writing styles- personalities, etc.

I jumped over to the new site primarily due to the behavior and language of some here, especially as it related to or in conjunction with the ladies that were present. My personal preference and core morals -So they are. Earlier in the week, stumbling into this forum on the main SIRI stock thread you could have mistaken it for a porn site practically. Some of the occasional bit's and blips are to be expected but I got a feeling more than a few were driven off because of it.

Find this all unfortunate that it has played out this way - But I have been lurking here without comment and more active on the new site - Likely it will remain so. From what I have seen and heard there is really no animosity nor any attempts to bash SB, even Brandon made a comment that wishes no one here any ill will.

Just as well there are some who are splitting between the two.

In one sense it's kind of awkward and again unfortunate doing this dance between two sites - On the other hand, maybe it will spurn on some healthy 'competition' in content and news, help for everyone ... It's kind of absurd to think that the two would compete negatively against each other when they are after the one and same thing.

Some of the posters here, while knowledgeable about the stock, need to grow up. At the least, someone call their mothers and tell them to bring a bar of soap.

    Looking forward to the movie.

And Homer, hope you stop by- (This is not an advertisement!)

Wow, that verbiage speaks volumes to me... "selective on the primary posters"? Really? To me, that means, they only want those who are going to post and comment in the way they want them to. People like me, who challenge popular positions are unwelcome...

C'est la vie. You get what you pay for... Guess I'll be happy posting here all by myself...

Thanks but no thanks, they have their "primary posters" selected already.

cos1000: Thanks for the kind words.

Tyler: I totally get where you're coming from - and understand it - as I too received some threats at one point, which caused me to back down. Not out of fear that I was wrong, but out of not wanting to go through the hassle that you talk about. Although me being intimidating into backing down is in itself a form of censorship -- but that's a whole nother discussion for another day.

And to defend Tyler and Charles a little more -- being in the media business -- I can tell you that their requests for toeing the line are not outrageous or unheard of... in this day and age where lawsuits are filed so willy nilly, it would be very easy for a site like this to fall under the crosshairs of such litigeous people. Sites that claim and/or demonstrate that they are "news organizations" (regardless of their size), are certainly more closely scrutinized than others -- and writers must realize that they are being held to a different standard than your every day average Yahoo poster. Anything you post can and will be held in a different regard than a simple message board post. And if it is in any way slanderous, you will pay the price for it some day.

Tyler will tell you -- when he first created his site, I was very critical of him for doing it -- I reminded him constantly that he needs to realize that running a website is way different than commenting on the Yahoo message board. Comments made, can be taken out of context and used against him... so he needed to be very careful. And to his credit, he has for the most part done this. I'm not sure about Brandon, however... I have followed his commentary in the past and do not think that he will be able to do the same. I sure hope he has his interests protected. I certainly have no interest in being a party to a site run by him... and will stay far away. In fact, ask Tyler, I wouldnt come anywhere near his site until I saw what kind of operation that was being run... I'm not sure about that new site and will reserve judgement for awhile. But for now, I'm not holding my breath.

Besides, us secondary (or tertiary, whichever it may be) posters may not even be welcomed there anyhow...

Well.. now that Brandon's gone.. other than Savery's articles, you get fascinating pieces like "Sirius XM covers the NHL playoffs" or "Jimmy Buffet live concert on Sirius XM." That is not going to keep people tuned into Sirius Buzz. Like him or not... Brandon always had an opinion and sparked discussion... I don't see that happening much anymore.
