SIRI Intraday Thread: Wednesday April 15

Will the upgrade from the S&P affect the stock price today?

Is it too late to get in premarket to ride the SP up?

Will the SP jump and settle downward alll day, or slowly climb up all day?

    Time will tell. Discuss...

My money is on a small jump to start with a slow decline and/or yo-yo like effect today. Nothing to see here people. Move along. Follow the detour to Q1 announcements which will bring you back to the highway and then you will be back on your way to greener pastures. Tune into SiriusXM traffic channels for further updates.

Good morning everyone, hope all are well and ready for another flat day, maybe not...!!!
That S&P upgrade was annonced back after the annual report came out in March afraid to say..don't know why it says yesterday,I remember talking about it then and saying we would get a bump then...Looks like Mel and the boys are going to make us wait the full 45 days till 1Q report again, but i guess that is so they can get some better guidance numbers to give for rest of year...

    P.S. love the Newman avatar...

So my question is why did they leave it at ccc-? can any1 shed some light as to why they would not upgrade the Sirius XM senior unsecured notes as well?

These S&P upgrades are confusing as hell.
The simple answer is one word Tripp,UNSECURED,which means that with Liberty involved and debt still an issue for 2011 if companies profit forcast doesn't pan out,all secured debt will be paid off in case of BK.
But common stock and unsecured debt probably won't be..Hence the unsecured bonds are trading low and of course we all know about SP...This is why i think 2Qreport will be most important one for siriusXM,as they should have a good picture of synergies and auto market by august2009 and be able to give good guidance for rest of 2009 and beyond..this is when SP will move, after 2Q report IMHO..

No article in the news section regarding the upgrade? This site is getting weaker every day.
