    TRN Update

    New Shareholder Letter released: http://www.trin.net/

Our 2008 results reflect a number of key strategic initiatives that we implemented during the past
few years designed to support our vision of becoming a premier, multi-industry growth company.
The progress we have made in diversifying our company, coupled with our highly flexible and
cost-effective manufacturing platforms, sizable backlogs, cross-business unit synergies, and strong
liquidity, contributed to our success. Revenues for the year surpassed our 2007 record, reaching
$3.88 billion. Our increase in revenues over 2007 was led by 46% growth in the Energy Equipment
Group ($199 million), 8% growth in the Rail Group ($182 million), and 27% growth in the Inland
Barge Group ($132 million). Our operating margin increased from 13% to 14% and earnings per
common diluted share from continuing operations decreased by 1% to $3.61. The reported, company-
wide backlog of our rail, barge, and wind towers businesses totaled more than $2.6 billion at
the end of 2008. Historically, Trinity has demonstrated its staying power and strengthened its
competitive position during down cycles, in part by taking advantage of investment opportunities
such as undervalued acquisitions and organic growth. We are monitoring opportunities while simultaneously
keeping a close eye on the economy and our cost
There were also 4,000shares of insider buys yesterday.

Sold my Ford today at 3.11 for a gain of $1.30 per share. Not too shabby.

Dumped AIB today on the huge spike at $2.95, taking only a couple dollars lost (all on commission). Should have held out for a few more pennies, but Im cool with it. That is what happens when you cannot be at your computer actively trading.

Now I've got a bit of cash to play with next week.

    Hey, trade the following spread:

Sell the SPY 84 April 09 Call
Buy the SPY 85 April 09 Call

    Credit: 0.40 cents
    Risk: 0.60 cents

The S&P will not break the 840-850 before April 17th.

How many contracts ? Depends on your capital and your appetite for risk.

I have $50K of play money so I risk no more than $1K per play (about 16 contracts).

    Gute natch...
