Adapting the car kit is possible but not cost effective. A better solution would be to buy a loose radio and a home kit.

You can buy a loose Stratus 5 radio from TSS-Radio for $39.00

You can also get a Soloist from them for $67.99

or a standard home kit from Best Buy for $51.99

Use Jame's first link to TSS radio and contact them. They will probably be able to set you up with a package you will love. They have great customer service!

It does appear that TSS-Radio has a better price than Best Buy for the home kit $39.99

Newman is right contact them they might give you a better price on a package. Atleast you would get free shipping as the total is over $70
