SIRI Intraday Updates for the Week of 2/23/09

Ok, ok! Give me more than 15 minutes past midnight to get stuff done! I don't get out of work until 11:30 PM.

Besides my work as an RN and a paramedic, I am also a full time student working on a master's degree. Give a guy a break!

So, are earnings today? Or Thursday? Or Next week? Sirius sure hasn't come out and said anything. Will they make the announcment the same week as the conference call? I don't think they have ever done that before. If I am correct, I believe they have to have their earnings report by the first week of March (they are given a bit longer because this is their year end CC). That would put an announcment this week with the CC next week? Perhaps on Monday March 2nd? Who knows... I have been predicting the damn CC every week for the last month and a half.

Only 595 replys to last weeks intraday thread and a mere 24882 views. You all must have been to busy to be at the computers much last week. Should be plenty to discuss this week, so what are you all waiting for?

    Starting off

Looks like the major indices are off to a good start - thought I'd sleep early tonight - but what the hell -

    E-Mini S&P 500 Mar 09 782.75 2:21am ET Up 13.25 (1.72%)
    Mini Dow Jones Indus.-$5 Mar 09 7,463.00 2:21am ET Up 111.00 (1.51%)
    Nasdaq 100 Mar 09 1,191.00 2:20am ET Up 19.25 (1.64%)
    S&P 500 Mar 09 783.20 2:21am ET Up 13.70 (1.78%)

Hopefully we'll continue to see some bounce this week after last weeks nuclear meltdown of the overall market. For those interested - Gold was sliding a little lower in the world spot - sitting at 984.20 on my last glance.

Look forward to reading some great posts this week.

And the question on everyone's mind? when will the 4Q anouncement be.... only the shadow knows....

Mark my words -- this is the week we close at .15.

From there, it's infinity and beyond.

    Or at least .20.

I'm thinking Sirius is reporting premarket on Thurs. On etrade the Sirius page says the 23rd but if you go to the market calender on Etrade it reports Thurs the 26th.

There has been no word from the company on when Q4 will be reported. Etrade does not have exclusive info on when Q4 earnings will be.....

It will be posted on SIRI's IR page...

Yes, it is rough...when I was in graduate school, working on my Doctorate I was required to do 48 credit hours, then on top of that had to study. It is rigorous. I finally lost interest and settled for a Masters.

So, anyway, everybody is hot on the subject of Upticks...continuing from the last Intraday...what does anybody think about changing Mark to Market? I know that this is not the upticks or mark to market thread, but it affects all of our stocks. The point is, if you are going to email your Representatives about the Uptick, then also include the closure of the Mark to Market rule. This will double the power of stocks and the market.

Mark to Market is killing the banks, the market and our economy.

Once again, if you don't know what Mark to Market is then look it up on Wikipedia...they have a very good explanation. It is important to know.

    Good trading today, warriors! lol

I posted this in the 4Q Results thread as well:

I believe they have until the EOM, which is on the weekend, so next business day. Mel said in the Dec CC that we would know all by March 1, which is also on the weekend so my best guess is that we'll hear something next Monday (March 2) and no sooner. He also said that they will be dealing with the debt issues "forthwith" and we didn't hear a word until the day the debt was due 2 months later, so you can assume that we will be the last people to know the Q4 results!
