Spending bills /09 / Were is it all going?

This thread is being launched so we can collectively gather information on were our taxes are going, in regards to the current stimulus package.

    Is it pork?

Will it help our economy? If so how long?

Or will it slow down the economy, and damage it?

All comments and ideas are welcome, just try and keep it civil.

It will be interesting to see where our money ends up once the dust settles. I think they could trim off a lot more pork from this bill, and save our money, for us to do with as we see fit.

Guess we wait and see for now. My guess is, it will only work temporarily, then who knows.

If our health care goes the way of Canada / Europe, its not good.

Even though our system is not perfect, its still the best care in the world!
People from around the world come to the US to get care that they can not get in their own countries.
This is not good in my eyes!!!

    It's a joke.
We have once again been bamboozled by the "suits" in Dc.
For Obama to tell us that there is "no pork and no earmarks" in this bill is an insult and a flat blatant lie. This thing is nothing more that Congress beating their own system by not having to discuss spending. Where most of these new plans have been shot down for decades. If this was the way to go you wouldn't have had o house Republicans and 11 House Dems voting against. Only 3 Republican Senators voted for it. But now we get to pay dearly for them. And our kids and their kids.

I think this will guarantee Obama will be a one term dude.

Well depending on what state you live in you might not have to worry!!!

For one thing, and I find this funny, this bill is unconstitutional!!!!!
HCR 6 / is being moved through certain states.

A number of states are adopting a form of the Kentucky resolution.
I have been following this for weeks now, and the media is finally picking it up. Not that it matters, damn socialists!!!

Basically in simple terms, the states tell the federal government what to do, not the other way around.
Say you need more fire fighters or cops in your town, the town pays for it, not the feds!! Its a local issue.
This bill will tax someone in Texas, for a bridge in Boston.

So by law this succubus package is unconstitutional!!

A growing number of states are declaring sovereignty. Washington, New Hampshire, Arizona, Montana, Michigan, Missouri, Oklahoma, California, and Georgia have all introduced bills and resolutions declaring sovereignty under the Tenth Amendment at one time or another. Colorado, Hawaii, Pennsylvania, Arkansas, Idaho, Indiana, Alaska, Kansas, Alabama, Nevada, Maine, and Illinois are considering such measures.http://freestateproject.org/node/16098

Forget about Illinois, trust me, I live here!!

The funny thing is they are already working on another succubus package.

    dread,

There is no State that will not take money from DC, IMO. Especially in this vortex the econony is in. I agree with your post but reality is that the gov doesn't function in reality.

Ya know what I don't get... if stimulus is the goal, how come the average Joe will only get appx. $18 more in their paychecks...why the hell not DO AWAY with taxes for a while and let the peeps use all the money they earn?

They don't want to cut taxes because it is proven to work. You put more money in the hands of the people and they will spend/save more.

The way I see it, the free markets are actually working. People are saving their money now and spending less. This administration does not see this nor will they acknowledge it either!!

Cutting capitol gains tax, corporate tax, small business tax, and so on, will create more jobs, and add to the GDP. This succubus package creates temp jobs, and those jobs do not add to the GDP.
