Im tech-stupid. I do not know how to follow charts at all. My main investment strategy has been to play the financials and pour through 10qs to see what the company is about and figure out how the company works. Sometimes, financials mean crap, such as when I first started investing in Sirius and now with CTGI. I know the business of both, and both are winning businesses. I think that GXTO has a definate future as well because the technology is amazing and will be in demand. I just get a little gun shy with the current economy and availability of funds with companies that have no revenue. I do not own CTGI right now (though I have in the past and made some great money on it). Sirius right now is the only stock that I have that is not profitable, but I am still looking at CTGI and GXTO.

    It's worth the trip

It is worth learning some about charts. www.stockcharts.com has a school on chart reading for free and it is fun. It really doesn't take long. A night or two on there and you will be really pleased and be a lot more confident. Just a thought.

It sure opened my eyes and has made me make a ton less mistakes investing. Knowing when to get in and get out and watching is of key interest. It sure has saved me Godzillians of money. After you learn a little, looking at a chart only takes a couple of minutes, you don't have to draw lines and all of that, but you will know how. It comes second nature really, really fast.

SIRI and ABK are red, but ABK is on its way. I knew this would happen with ABK ahead of time. As you were talking about financials, ABK just sucks, but I am playing it on the 10, 50 and 200 day MA's, not the financials.

It is now over the 10, 50, and 200 day MA's as of today. The fact that it is will make people jump on the bandwagon. I will wait out $1.68 or higher then bail. I have all of the time in the world with it. Monday will be a real indicator.

I may be a slow man and rode on the small yellow bus to high school, but I got there. In college and post-graduate school I wasn't much faster, but I got there. Lunch was good.

    Have a great night,

    Bill

    Monday 1/26/09 Market Prediction

I am done with the Obama Rally thread. As we can see, it just didn't happen, the market ignored him even before, during and after his speech and swearing in (the first time).

    The Obama Prediction Performance scorecard:
    Day 1: CRAP 1/20/09
    Day 2: GOOD 1/21/09
    Day 3: CRAP 1/22/09
    Day 4: CRAP 1/23/09

The performance: CRAP 3 to 1

    It just didn't happen.

    Back to normal daily predictions:

We have been trading on the Nasdaq below 1500 for a couple of days now. Our support levels have held up really well and I believe that we are ready to bounce above 1500 again. Our support levels of 1444, 1435 and 1400 have held up really well, so let's keep a watch on Monday and Tuesday. We could get up 10 to 30 points above 1500.

On the DOW - We hit 8350 two times last week which is a double top on charts. I think we can challenge 8500 this week. Because of this 8350 double top, combined with all of the bad financial news last week (which dragged us down repeatedly) I believe that going over 8500 is totally possible unless there is more mud that surfaces. Basically, with those indicators, I believe that we may be bottomed out and are trying to bounce up, but the news has been smashing us back down, but has not been enough to cause a downtrend. So, 8500+ could possibly be a reality.

    Just thinking out loud.

Opinions and comments, as always, are welcome here.

Bill, I hear ya man, as long as the government keeps jacking around with the markets, and changing rules, people will just sit on the sidelines.

Hope your having a good weekend!!! Looks like its beer-o-clock time.

    Dread,

Now that we are becoming a welfare / socialist country with the Government being our "Mommy", everything will go to hell in a hand basket.

I totally agree that the more government gets involved with finances, the worse off we will be. Like you say, with the restriction and regulation of free enterprise, people will be sitting on the sidelines.

If you want to screw something up really good, then just get the government involved.

They now want to control everything and every aspect of our lives. I have problems with that. The government should be here to protect our shores, capture crooks, defend our individual freedoms, collect taxes and that is it.

It will get worse by the day and people will become less productive with this new welfare state that we are creating. Normal people are going to get sick of this really quick. Welfare recipients will love it...sit on their asses at home and get "The Check". People with ambition, like in this stock forum are a completely different breed. We want to earn our own.

They have been brainwashing our newest generation and conditioning them into this new Politically Correct environment, so you might say that we Dinosaurs have seen our day. This Dinosaur will fight to the end.

Anyway, it doesn't take much to get me pissed off over politics! lol

    You are totally right.

Anyway, I am having a great weekend. I am ready to get into the Maker's Mark - fine, American hand-crafted burboun. I quit drinking beer over a year ago. I have a kegerator out in the garage and started gaining too much weight, so I quit. Besides that, now I don't have to pee every five minutes and it takes a whole lot less to get a buzz.

    A little later,

    Bill

awww bill, dont become such a negative nancy, i think we have a bright future compared to the present. I think the blacks having an actual role model instead of rappers and athlete's who really arent role models at all will get more blacks and minority's off welfare and out to better themselves. Americans are seriously divided right now, the one's who see great things ahead of us, and the one's who think the worlds ending. Ask yourself this, what side would you rather be on? Just so you know, obama's approval rating right now, highest approval rating since jfk, so you can see which side most americans are on. It's just you only ever hear the ones who are angry, the pleased one's are usually quiet. Anyway just fed up with all the negativity, lets all throw our hats in the ring and try for the best instead of bickering and arguing, oh and stimilus packages are quite normal during reccession's, you can call it welfare or whatever, but it wouldnt be anything diff from any other similar period of time.

    Good read Bill,

And I totally agree, I am 35, and have been watching this unfold since I was in high school.

The next great society is being formed with younger generations. I am a blue collar person, automotive, towing, transmissions, and telecommunication work.

This whole oil is evil, and global warming garbage has to stop!!!

By the way its 0 degrees out here right now, don't get me wrong I don't mind the cold, but come on with the whole global warming BS!! This all came out of Gore, the same person that said he invented the internet!!

Anyway I will shut up for now, have a good night, I am drinking Bush beer, and I could use a shot of Jack right now!!! Be Well!!

Almost forgot, and I am sick of Cramer!!!

    http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/0...d-toward-zero/

CHTR has over 20+billion in dept, and people keep making a connection to SIRI with this, I am sick of these clowns!!!

A negative "Nancy"??? I am laughing my ass off!

I was reading your post in the SIRIUS BUZZ and was cracking up.

Ah, I have to be positive....and hope things go for the better... (let me say that 30 times). We don't have much of a choice now (gritting teeth....)

You have a lot of good points there. I DO and HAVE TO wish him to succeed. He is our President for 4 years, but I will monitor him like Bill Oreilly, lol.

Oh it's a fine day, Tripps........is that better??
