it is weird all these out of place buys, they have been up and down though, the 18 cent buy after hours and a couple 15 cent buys yesterday when we were barely at .14, no idea whats going on with that on my side. hopefully no tom foolery is going on here. I wish i could get some explanation as to why a sale after 4 pm is counted as the closing price.

    has anyone seen this release

    XM: Reaching Beyond Radio

"With the launch of our new telematics systems, we are excited to see our long-standing partnership with XM to launch into new terrain," said Pisz.

In addition to XM's ongoing satellite radio offerings, including the now available "The Best of SIRIUS," Toyota's XM services are now expanding to include XM NavTraffic(R) on more Lexus and Toyota models, as well as XMNavWeather(TM) and XM(R) Sports and Stocks on most Lexus models. Also of note, XM has provided Toyota with proprietary bandwidth for the broadcast of Lexus Insider audio casts.

The last line just caught my eye. If XM has given bandwith perhaps there was some payment for this any thoughts?

    Hey Tripping

    Hey Tripping,

I won't buy anymore SIRI for a while, I gave it today and tomorrow to prove that it is doing something and it hasn't so far. Will take a look Monday.

    LVLT is hot hot hot!

Made big money on it today! They are located about 15 - 20 miles from where I live.

Another to check out is ABK, it just broke the 50 day moving average. Look at the chart for three years back. That may well be Monday's purchase. Long!

It may go off like LVLT. Tell me what you, or anyone thinks. I have a couple of people that think it will be a great stock also.

    Time for Maker's Mark!

    Bill

i think lvlt has alot of potential, online video distribution is the future and level three is leading the charge, they spent alot of money on there infrastructure now there network covers the entire us exept a few off the way places like montana who needs that lol and even into europe, i think siri and level three were both brought down by speculation and the credit crisis, but i dont think they can be held down any longer as the future is undeniably bright for both companies, although i dont think siri will shoot up as fast as level three has it sure would be nice. I'm not currently adding any more position's, i avged down to 19 cents and im happy with that, if i sell any other positions and sirius is still in 13-15 cent range then i may add more.

YRCW should have a strong day tomorrow also. Could see a 20% increase.

There are several reasons why AH is the "wild west" of trading:

1.- Many institutional investors and market professional avoid market risks by negotiating the execution prices of their after-hours trades beforehand.

2.-The New York Stock Exchange and American Stock Exchange provide crossing sessions in which matching buy and sell orders can be executed at 5:00 p.m. at the exchanges' 4:00 p.m. closing prices.

3.- In addition, four regional exchanges currently have post-primary trading sessions: the Boston Stock Exchange ("BSE") and the Philadelphia Stock Exchange ("Phlx") have post-primary sessions that operate from 4:00 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.; the Chicago Stock Exchange ("CHX") and the Pacific Exchange ("PCX") operate their post-primary sessions until 4:30 p.m. Since October 29, 1999, the CHX has also operated an "E-Session" to handle limit orders from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

4.- Activity immediately after the 4:00 pm close is institutional by nature with more and more ECN's kicking in after 5:00 pm (the AH trading open time).

5.-There's also liquidity constrains and price volatility. Most stocks that trade in the after-hours market trade only during the period immediately after the 4:00 p.m. regular session close in one of the 4 exchanges mentioned above and during one of the post-primary sessions.

6.- Not surprisingly, the largest percentage price swings in the after-hours market are often experienced by extremely illiquid "penny stocks" in which small absolute price swings translate into large percentage changes.

7.- Keep in mind computer glitches at the brokers and at the exchanges also affect the trades execution.

MOST IMPORTANT: The traditional trading session stops at 4:00 p.m. and the after-hours session begins one hour later. A break between the day and evening sessions allows time for the 4:00 p.m. closing price to be captured; provides a window for corporate announcements; gives specialists and market makers time to adjust their order books; give member firms and processors time to close and re-open their systems; and reinforce the message that the after-hours trading session is a fundamentally different type of market.

Keep in mind that the trades that post between 4:00 and 5:00 are handled thru one of the 4 exchanges listed above during the "special" trading sessions also mentioned above.

This should clarify some of you all questions and doubts about AH trading and why sometimes it blinks, jumps or coughs...

    Siriusowner,

That information is not accurate.....and seems way outdated.

For starters, AH does not start one hour after the market closing. I have bought and sold in AH a few minutes after the closing bell many times and I am not an institutional trader...

What website did you get that info from?

Why didn't you post a link to where you got that info from? Please do...
