60s channel was mangled worse than 70s

70s was my 3rd favorite channel. They eliminated my 1st favorite and totally screwed up my 2nd favorite, the 60s channel. I don't know if the 60s playlist is screwed up or not because I can't stand to listen to it long enough to tell. Between the stupid jingles and obnoxious DJs, the only thing I can do is turn it off after a few minutes. I canceled my sub because I think that's the only thing they will pay attention to, and there's no point in spending money on junk. I've been running Slacker radio for the past few days, and it beats the pants off of Sirius for music. Deep playlist, reasonable commercials that don't appeal to infants like the Sirius jingles do, and if a song you don't like comes up, just hit the skip button.

I said that none of them really played on the same day. I was trying to insinuate that most did not. Now you are saying often but that is not the case. Also, when they did play on the same day they were not close together.

I am not saying that your feeling are not valid, all I am saying is that this is a far cry from hearing the same song 4-5 times per day on terrestrial.

BTW: The number of songs on XM would have sufficed...no one is going to read your list and I can only wonder how many people will move along because the thread is unreadable. Who the hell is going to make it to page two? They are going to assume that this list just goes on and on forever.

    Charles,

Ok, I'm sorry about the long list.....I didn't realize it was going to be that long. That wasn't even the whole playlist! I went through the whole XM playlist and tried to take out all of the songs that are on the Sirius' playlist, along with other overplayed songs. The list does clearly show how much larger and deeper the XM playlist was. I didn't expect anyone to actually read through every song - the songs were listed alphabetically. I guess after all the time it took me, I wanted to post it for those that might be interested and to illustrate clearly the lack of depth and variety in the new Sirius' playlist compared to the old XM programmed playlist.

As far as describing how many times a song plays twice in the same day - I guess the adjective "often" can be subjective... Maybe some people don't mind heavy repetition - I'm not one of those people! You are correct when you say that it is "a far cry from hearing the same song 4-5 times per day on terrestrial." Those are current hit stations that do that though! They play brand new songs that haven't been overplayed for decades yet. This isn't terrestrial and this is a decades channel. It's supposed to encompass music from an entire decade - as opposed to just the flavors of the month. It's frustrating to hear such a small playlist from the whole decade played over and over. I hear the same overplayed songs every single day. I find it hard to believe that I'm the only one that is sick of hearing the same songs over and over on the new Sirius' programmed 70's on 7 channel....

Just so far this weekend they have already played almost all of the overplayed songs that I just used as examples at the beginning of this thread.....

Sure enough, they stuck to playing those same songs. Here is the rest of the list from last night. That makes 42 songs repeated yesterday - and that's just from the list of examples I posted at the beginning of this thread. I wonder why they like these songs on their playlist so much?

How many days will they play these same songs over and over? I'm going to end up hating these songs. These are only just the repeats today of the songs I pointed out at the beginning of the thread....
