The Lakers just lost to Toronto and they are now 31-37. A year ago at this time they were 31-36 so it is easy to see that LeBron has really not been much help to the team. Jeff Van Gundy on ESPN said he thinks the Lakers should try to trade LeBron tothe Clippers or another team.
Last night I was prepared to complain about the Clippers. They led the Nets 116-106 with only 1:02 left to play -- and the Nets managed to tie the game. Then Lou Williams made a buzzer-beating three-pointer and the Clippers won! I almost fainted.
Nowitzki is 40 and averages 20.8 points per game. I doubt he'll rise any higher on the all-time scoring list. Above him are, in descending order, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and Michael Jordan. Chamberlain and Jordan are tied for most points per game: 30.1.

The Lakers lost again tonight and they are 10 games out of the last playoff spot and they play just 11 more games. I do not think Luke Walton will be back next season.
The Lakers lost again and they are 10 and a half games out of the last playoff spot and they have just 10 games left so they are officially out of the playoffs. This is six years in a row. ESPN has been talking about who might be the Lakers' new coach, maybe Brian Shaw or Jason Kidd or Mark Jackson.
I could have predicted this but I knew nobody in Lakers management would have listened to me. Teams can't always buy their way into a championship. The Lakers know that now.

Magic announced his resignation at a press conference without first telling Jeanie Buss. He knew he would cry if he told her. There's no crying in basketball! No crying! Or is it baseball I'm thinking of?

I suspect that whenever a team and its coach announce a "mutual decision" to part ways, it is not mutual. It's either a firing or a resignation. First Magic, then Luke -- will LeBron be the next to go?

The Kings, who have missed the playoffs for 13 consecutive years, just hired the former coach of a team that has missed the playoffs for only six consecutive years. Woo-hoo!

The Clippers won game 2 against Golden State after being down by 31 points and then they won game 5 but that is as far as they got. Golden State just won the playoff series. I was rooting for the Clippers but the Warriors are the better team.
