Sooner or later, almost everybody in the Trump White House quits or gets fired. And it really doesn't matter how many aides and advisers Trump has. He ignores them and does whatever he wants. He's the Emperor, after all.

Emperor Trump's decision to withdraw American troops from northern Syria sent a message to our allies that they can no longer count on the United States for support. Emperor Trump's decision also sent a message to Turkish troops, Russian troops and ISIS fighters that they can now do whatever they wan tin Syria without having to worry about those pesky American soldiers.

American troops and Kurdish forces fought side by side to defeat ISIS in Syria. Immediately after Emperor Trump decided to withdraw our troops from northern Syria, Turkish troops attacked the Kurds. "We have just stabbed our allies in the back," declared a Republican Representative. He is far from alone.

Who benefits the most from Emperor Trump's decision to pull our troops out of northern Syria and abandon the Kurdish allies who have helped us battle ISIS? Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Trump loves dictators! This letter from Matthew Singerman of Newbury Park appears in today's Los Angeles Times:
"Of all the reprehensible acts Donald Trump has committed as President, his decision to abandon our battlefield allies in northern Syria and leave them to be attacked by Turkish forces dwarfs them all. Is this an expression of our American values? Do we enlist allies to fight and die for our cause, only to reward them by abandoning them to be slaughtered? When asked about this decision, Trump babbled some incoherent excuse that the Kurds 'didn't help us with Normandy.' Leaving aside the almost comical ignorance of that statement, my only comment is that if, God forbid, we face another situation approaching the gravity of Normandy, we won't see the Kurds or anyone else fighting by our side.
The world has now seen the selfish manner in which we treat our 'allies.' It took decades for the US to develop the goodwill among nations that made us an example of moral leadership and a reliable ally in dire times. It's taken Trump less than three years to destroy it, and I don't know how easily, if it all, it can be restored."

Thanks to Emperor Trump's decision to withdraw American troops from northern Syria, Turkish troops are slaughtering the Kurds who helped us defeat ISIS – and ISIS is now resurging in the region. Our allies now realize they can be abandoned by the United States at any time. Trump's "Make Our Allies Hate America" campaign is a rousing success.

Blindly loyal Trump supporters, you should learn a lesson from Trump's actions in Syria: When he decides you are no longer of any use to him, he will turn on you and abandon you the same way he abandoned our Kurdish allies.

William Barr is the Attorney General of the United States but he acts as though he's the personal attorney of Donald Trump. Lately, Trump has become increasingly unhappy with Fox News because – Oh, the horror! – some of the news stories about him have been negative. So why did Barr fly to New York to meet with Fox News' chairman? If Barr asked Rupert Murdoch to help Trump's re-election campaign by halting the negative reporting, he's in violation of the Hatch Act and federal laws forbidding executive branch employees from engaging in partisan activity. Seeking details of the meeting, New York Times reporters sought comments from Barr's aides and Murdoch's aides. Nobody responded. More corruption and cover-ups from the Trump administration. What else is new?
Opinion: Bill Barr's meeting with Fox News Chairman Rupert Murdoch should be investigated
