I have not heard any Electronic music on "Alt Nation" at all, even on weekends, and I've checked on Fridays/Saturdays/Sundays. A "weekend show" is not going to replace a full station I listened too all week long.
January 9th is my cutoff date. Some of the (House) music they play on Sirius 36 is ok, I like a handful of songs, but some is getting repetitive, and the trance station is hit or miss. Regardless, there is more to electronic music than just House and Trance, and it's a disservice to Electronica fans like all of us to only have these stations available.
Breakbeat is where my heart is, and what I spin.
For an alternative at home/work, I've been listening to
http://www.di.fm
They have a
premium service also for only $59.40/Year.
This gives you access to their "Premium" streaming channels so instead of 96K, you get them at 192K, and the sound is amazingly better (try the 2 day pass for $2.00).
I listen to their Breakbeat station, and sometimes the trance or drum and bass stations. I also suggested these in an email I sent to Jon Zellner (S.VP of Music Programming), the CEO, and the S.VP of Entertainment.
Other online radio stations I've tried and like:
http://www.pandora.com
http://www.last.fm
As for music in my car, the only thing I can think of is to fill up my iPOD with my favorite stuff, which is going to take time to compile, and then just use that to listen to breaks and such. I do listen to other music here and there, but without Boombox, my heart just isn't into Sirius XM, so why pay for it. I'd rather pay for Premium service for the internet radio station, DI.FM.
Bump. Keep calling and emailing them!
