The US is a "developing country in terms of high speed rail"

Ouch that hurts. I hope we can find a way to develop a high speed rail system in this country. Its hugely expensive and will take at least 20 to 30 years of preparation and execution but do we have any choice? Its embarassing to see all these different countries pass us by when it comes to purchasing and or building these amazing machines. I got to ride in them in Spain and i can tell you that it was an incredibly smooth and fast ride. Whats a country to do?
