Subscriber Numbers
Okay. It is that time once again. Another quarter is coming to a close, and we will await the announcement of the conference calls, where subscriber numbers will be released. As we all know, it is the NET number that matters, but lets make this interesting. We want your estimate, guess, or WAG on the following:
GROSS SUBSCRIBERS SIRIUS -
GROSS SUBSCRIBERS XM -
NET SUBSCRIBERS SIRIUS -
NET SUBSCRIBERS XM -
For those that like a challenge, add these metrics:
GROSS RETAIL SIRIUS -
GROSS RETAIL XM -
GROSS OEM SIRIUS -
GROSS OEM XM -
Advanced readers can then add these -
NET RETAIL SIRIUS -
NET RETAIL XM -
NET OEM SIRIUS -
NET OEM XM -
Take a shot, and see how close you can come. No prizes here (the budget does not allow for it), just bragging rights:D.

I'll try being a bit optimistic (not very, just a bit)....
GROSS SUBSCRIBERS SIRIUS - 1.4 million
GROSS SUBSCRIBERS XM - 900k
NET SUBSCRIBERS SIRIUS - 760k
NET SUBSCRIBERS XM - 500k
For those that like a challenge, add these metrics:
GROSS RETAIL SIRIUS - 200k
GROSS RETAIL XM - 60k
GROSS OEM SIRIUS - 1.2m
GROSS OEM XM -540k
Advanced readers can then add these -
NET RETAIL SIRIUS - 125k
NET RETAIL XM - 5k
NET OEM SIRIUS - 750k
NET OEM XM - 300k

I have my eye on one number Tyler. 20 million subscribers by the end of 2008 with just about all car manufacturers wrapped up. That is critical mass and distribution.
That is AOL circa 1998. Oh what AOL could have been. Sorry to go off topic.

I would be happy to see net additons for Sirius at 400k for 3rd quarter and 250k for XM. 3rd quarter is usually weak. If together they get to over 17 million total subs by the end of 2007 that should make 20 million by the end of 2008 a cakewalk.
