As readers of Sirius Buzz are aware, there was a Media Ownership hearing conducted by the FCC in Chicago last evening. With such meetings, the commissioners often issue statements. Reading such statements can help investors understand the thought process of the various commissioners. A better understanding of that thought process can perhaps shed some light on leanings with regards to the proposed merger of Sirius and XM. Bear in mind that these statements relate to the Media Ownership hearings that are currently happening, and not specific to the satellite radio merger.
The meeting was over seven hours long, but is full of consumer comments on various issues. The FCC website does not yet have the audio available for replay, but when they do it will be available at on this page of the FCC site. Until then you can always check out the Statements from Commissioner Deborah Taylor Tate, Jonathan Adelstein, Michael Copps, and Chairman Martin
