Apple computer is set to launch their highly anticipated i-Phone later this month. According to a company spokesman as well as advertisements, June 29th will see Apple fans cheering. The phone will debut exclusively with AT&T's wireless division. With a price tag ranging from $499 to $599, it will be interesting to see if Apple fans are dedicated enough to the I-Pod to switch cell carriers.
As the proposed merger between Sirius and XM continues, and the Department of Justice mulls over the Anti-Trust issues, the launch of the I-Phone will surly be labeled as competition by Sirius and XM, and rightly so. Investors should keep an eye on the I-Phone if for no other reason than to identify potential opportunities in the cell sector as well as Apple.
