Sirius Super Bowl Coverage
I personally don’t see any reason why my fellow red blooded Americans wouldn’t have their butts parked in a chair at some super bowl party watching and waiting for another possible nipple slip. If you can’t make it to a TV or maybe don’t have any friends there is still hope for all you loyal Sirius subscribers. Sirius will air an expanded lineup of live play by play broadcasts of Super Bowl XLI. Sirius will offer ten different game calls in seven languages, including both local radio broadcasts and the national CBS Radio Sports broadcast.
* 123 - Chicago Bears team broadcast
* 124 - Westwood One/CBS Radio Sports broadcast
* 125 - Indianapolis Colts team broadcast
* 107 - NHK Japan broadcast (Japanese)
* 110 - France 2 broadcast (French)
* 119 - SMG broadcast (Mandarin Chinese)
* 130 - ARD broadcast (German)
* 143 - NTV + Russia broadcast (Russian)
* 147 - Canal + Spain broadcast (Spanish-Spain)
* 181 - Westwood One Spanish broadcast (Spanish-Latin America)
This is what makes Sirius so damn cool. The extended channel line up lets you hear the Super Bowl in a nice hometown bias point of view or your native tongue.
SIRIUS Satellite Radio recently announced that they will present live radio coverage of NASCAR races starting in 2007, making listeners feel like they are on top of their favorite team’s pit box on race day. The plan is that SIRIUS will be dedicating 10 channels to exclusively cover the actual pit crew and drivers in car communications. You will be able to hear the actual microphone chatter and strategies the teams use on race day. I am not a fan of NASCAR myself but this sounds like it could be some real fun. What do these guys actually say to each other that you can’t hear live on television? Will it be truly uncensored like the rest of Sirius’s programming? If so we might be in for some real rowdy red neck fun.
The National Basketball Association and SIRIUS Satellite Radio, announced today a new exclusive programming lineup on NBA Radio on SIRIUS, channel 127, the first 24/7, year-round radio channel devoted to the NBA. The new lineup will be a “slam dunk” with daily talk shows from Hall of Famer Rick Barry, Kenny “The Jet” Smith, Ian Eagle, Frank Isola, Rich Ackerman and others. On top of featuring over 1000 regular season games, they will also broadcast every game of the NBA Playoffs and The Finals.
